Bio

Brenna Rizan, MSW, LCSW is a wife and working mother of one daughter. Brenna is a licensed clinical social worker in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology on the healthcare campus in Sacramento specializing in perinatal social work and maternal mental health. Brenna is a member is the Sacramento Maternal Mental Health Collaborative with the mission to collaborate to develop and maintain an equitable system of prevention, identification, and treatment services addressing the full spectrum of maternal mental health conditions in Sacramento County. Brenna has clinical and research interests in trauma-informed interventions for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, perinatal grief and loss, and decreasing disparities in health access, social determinants of health, health equity, and intersectionality of structural oppressions. Rizan is passionate about helping new mothers through their maternal mental health journey. In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her daughter and having date nights with my husband. As a family she loves to go camping and enjoy popcorn and movie nights. For self-care she enjoys yoga, crafting, and going to comedy shows with friends. She is currently studying for her doctoral degree at Tulane University.
